About.This Card Writing Campaign is an community service initiative based in College Park, Maryland. This initiative seeks to support essential workers in the local community. It was established in 2020 during the onset on the COVID-19 pandemic, to fill the gap by sharing gratitude with our front line fighters and spreading positivity.

To provide our community support for the local heroes, and the front line fighters, whose efforts do not go unnoticed and whose work is essential to our quality of life.
Our Team
Carson Peters
Founder
Carson Peters is from College Park, MD and has been a resident of College Park for over 20 years. Carson is passionate about public health and advocacy. She studied abroad in Brazil, India, and South Africa, in an honors global health program, and focused on infectious diseases research including TB, HIV/AIDS and Zika. Her experiences abroad inspired her to conduct her senior thesis on women’s cancer as a health disparity in Sub-Saharan Africa. She also is pursuing a research study, with the Harvard Global Health Institute focused on HIV+ men’s engagement in care. Her experiences also include working at the National Institute of Health's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Harvard School of Public Health, and on Capitol Hill for Congressman John Lewis. Carson's current research and engagement with COVID-19 include working as a content curator for a COVID-19 educational platform and conducting a photovoice preliminary research study.
